As a senior Warehouse manager, you need to handle all things just by your self. It is you who will manage and facilitate the team. If ever problem arise, it is the manager who will analyze and give solution to that problem. Also as a manager you must know the strength and the power of your company.
In Warehouse, production is the king of the company. Everything was geared to support production’s demands.It is the production who makes the pennies for company Y. But Im not very popular with production right now, I’ve got a responsibility . If I see waste of money then I’ll try and highlight it to see if it’s true or not.And if someone is responsible, then IS can easily trace that one.
I found responsible in understanding what a new IS is all about for I was the senior Manager and luckily new IS was introduced to me earlier. I was given 6 months of viewing, familiarizing and sitting down the system before it was introduced. Now I know for the fact that most of the production supervisors didn’t have that half of amount of training. For they can only have 2-3 weeks of siiting down.
The new IS also affect the role of the supervisor. It makes his work more difficult and complicated, more worries and tasks. More worries because before the plant supervisors never had to worry about how much stock they had, they have now because the system works that way. The System needs to know what they’re using and how much they used.
We cant really deny the fact that when we are in a business we can’t avoid we problems (major problems) and thanks to the MIS for they were so helpful in business manner.
